The Place To Process Thoughts In Africa

Next Week is the week! I will begin sharing a few thoughts from my journals on, “The Life Time Writer.”

My pages are filled with words of the ups and downs of life. Years ago he big struggle began when my feet landed in my current city.

Up, down, sideways, including legalism and battles specifically fought as a woman in the business world and the world of religion.

Life on paper…

Beginning Again Does Not Mean We Are A Failure

Beginning again does not mean we are a failure.

Count down! 6-5-4-3-2-1

Happy New Year!

In a few days we will enter the year of 2017. For many as year end approaches it is a time when business owners review the previous year and set their sights on the approaching year?

In many ways the writing world is similar.

Did I finish the book I began in early 2016?

If I finished writing the book, “How many copies did I sell?”

If my book did not sell well, “Why? What do I need to do to improve in this area? Should I change my writing style? Is my writing not applicable to my audience?”

Did I not bother to market my book correctly?

If I did not finish writing my book, “Why did I not finish it?”

It’s reflection time! If we are not pleased with our answers to the above questions, it is not to late and we are not a failure.

Beginning again does not mean we are a failure. If it is our writing style, sign up for a writing class to improve.

Learn about publishing and marketing our writing.

Listen to authors who succeeded by listening to their podcasts, watching videos, attending conferences and reading books.

The exciting part about today’s writing is we have access online to the best writers. We can learn from them if we are willing.

I would love to hear from you. Do you have tips for our readers? What area do you struggle in as a writer. What are your specific plans to improve your writing in 2017?

Comment and share with us.

With hard work and a willing to learn mentality your success may be around the next curve.

Revelation; God’s disclosure of himself and his will. (Dictionary.com) 2 Chronicles Chapter 1:9-10

Last night before I closed my eyes for the evening, I began to read 2 Chronicles chapter 1. Verse 9-10, jumped out at me, “Now, LORD God, please keep your promise to David my father, for you have made me king over a people as numerous as the dust of the earth! Give me wisdom and knowledge to rule them properly, for who is able to govern this great nation of yours?”

Now don’t go thinking that I am going to share that I am a king who will rule over a nation or over you. God used this passage to prompt me to pray. As I prayed I asked God to give me his wisdom and knowledge in all that he gives me to do. In my personal and leadership life.

This morning I began my day reading. I read an email that was a question about a book review that I agreed to do. The question arrived with a suddenly for me that had nothing to do with the question. I was not praying. I was not looking for an answer to a question. The suddenly arrived with an answer that I was not seeking. In fact I forgot about my prayer request to God the night before. Have you ever experienced this situation? This is a revelation. It is a morning that God disclosed himself and his will for me.

This involves my big life change that happened 7 years ago. My company closed, my University closed, I could no longer afford my apartment and moved into someone’s basement. Eventually I could no longer afford my car and it was gone too! I was on the edge of homelessness. Everywhere I turned the door slammed in my face. Assistance was available with a few organizations but came with a long list of conditions and requirements.

This morning I realized that although I thought I was doing well a wound was hanging out in the depths of my heart. I felt that what I had to say was no longer important in my country. We value jobs, homes, cars, money in the bank, and all sorts of material stuff. Somehow even though I traveled to preach/teach in other countries, I felt I had no right to speak up in my country including in our churches. I allowed the enemy to silence my voice in my country, because I no longer have what people place value on in the United States. Unfortunately I also allowed the enemy to use the voices of others around me in my city to speak worthlessness into my life. Without realizing it, I took this into my heart and my mind.

I am thankful for the revelation that arrived on the doorstep of my office and in my heart this morning. God disclosed his thinking and heart on this problem in my heart and healed a wound that I did not know existed. In this I find freedom.

1 Peter 5:8 New International Version

Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.

Matthew 6:19-21 New International Version

19 “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

2015 A Year Of Travel And New Things!

Each year instead of a New Years Resolution the Lord gives me a word for the year. Yes, if you are wondering what that means when I say the Lord gives me a word, I am a christian. I am a Christ following. I believe every word in the word of God, the bible. I believe every word is true and inspired by God!

My word for 2014 was beauty. This word assisted me to see beauty in tough times. For 2015 my word arrived early. My word for 2015 is thankful. A year of thankfulness is on its way. In fact it is beginning now! It is also a year of publishing 3 books and travel! Beauty and thankfulness!

A word for my blog followers and readers; Never give up! If you do you may miss what is waiting for you just around the corner.

“He Has Aspergers” and Everything Else I Never Wanted To Hear About My Son

Today I am posting this for the brave and courageous women who are mothers to special needs children. You are special, you are courageous, you are loved and never forgotten by God. This is a journey that must be traveled that is not the same as traveling to another country. This journey requires daily courage. As for me just as in any situation I belief Jesus Christ is the answer. I am one who

believes in the healing power of Jesus Christ and I for one keep praying for those who struggle with physical, emotional issues or mental disabilities. The healing is in the hands of God, and I do not understand the why when the healing does not come. BUT I do know that Jesus Christ is the one who will help us through the tough spots of life when we think we cannot go on.

Do you hear that?

Come closer.

That’s the sound of my heart breaking.

My son has always loved the ocean. His eyes are the color of the sea, changing from blue to green with the swell of the tide.  And my love for him is an ocean, an overwhelming force which is sometimes calm and steady, and other times full of conflict.

A mother’s love is like the continuous miracle of the sea. It begins in the ocean of your womb – but there is something unsettling about the way your baby kicks. So fiercely you feel bruised on the inside.

There is something willful and stubborn about his refusal to come out. He arrives weeks late, and even then – after almost 40 hours of labor.

Your baby is overwhelming and mysterious and brutal, like the ocean. He screams uncontrollably for hours a day, every day. And you bring him to…

When The Truth Is Revealed! The Vision Grows!

As I listen to this song all kinds of relationships apply to this song. For me this song reminds me that as we build a team for The Relationship Project, we will build a team that will stand by each other. Maybe someone needs to hear these words tonight. A few times in my life organizations threw me overboard and disconnected. BUT it did not stop me from moving forward or continuing on with what I am to do in this world.

Tonight I finally received confirmation of the why a group threw me overboard.  What I was observing without speaking was right on! Many times people will give us a reason that is not the true reason. Beware of people who are ladder climbers, they will sacrifice you for their gain. They will even talk about you behind your back and there will be times they will reveal the truth without realizing they are revealing it. Listen closely to what is said and what is written.

If one group of people throw us overboard, it does not mean we must discontinue our vision or plan. In fact what usually happens is we will find ourselves in the middle of a new group of people and what we are working on will grow to huge proportions if we DO NOT GIVE UP, stay focused and be discerning with who we bring up close to our projects. Whether your dream is to write or to travel; make a plan, set short term goals and long term goals, take a step and eventually you will find yourself at your destination.

As for me, I am standing with you! As for my readers, make a decision and do not give up!  (Nancy J. the author of Life Time Writer.)
